The Interview
Process
Sample size varies based on the size of the organization:
30 or less (entire organization),
Up to 50 (1/2 the organization),
50 – 100 (1/3 of the organization),or
100-300 (20%)
The actual process:
- We supply a set of open-ended questions that employees will
be asked.
- Management has a meeting or puts out a memo giving employees
permission to participate.
- Employees elect some fellow employees to participate
- Those employees then have a group of roughly 10 that they
poll and get the answers to those questions, as well as compiling
them and offering potential solutions.
- We then sit down with those employees and ask them the same
set of questions as well as a few more based on the answers
(could be done by phone some of the time).
- We then compile the extended results, going back to the elected
employees for answers or possible solutions when needed. (It
is my belief that in almost every case, the staff really knows
what needs to be done & management is too occupied to pay
attention to those who could solve their problems.)
- Have a meeting with the elected employees, after the results
are compiled, to assure that they agree with the gist of the
answers.
